I’m Proud of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have been sent home from the WWE’s latest European Tour. Pro Wrestling Sheet had exclusive details on what happened that led to the duo getting sent home.

Putting all of that aside for a second, isn’t this kind of fun? Wrestling, especially WWE wrestling entertainment has been so corporate for the past 10 plus years, to the point that something like this didn’t even seem possible. All of the wrestlers act like they’re just happy to be on the roster. How many times do we hear about how “this is their dream” and “I worked my whole life for this”. Now in the past two months, we have wrestlers walking out over money and getting kicked off of tours for going into business for themselves.

All I can say is, THIS IS PRO WRESTLING BABY!!! This is how it’s supposed to work. If the boys don’t stand up for themselves, who will? It’s 2017 and smart guys like Owens and Zayn know they have options.

Wrestling is, and always will be about wrestlers protecting their spot in the company. Owens and Zayn have worked too hard and sacrificed too much to just give their hard earned heat away for nothing.

So shedding all of that bullshit corporate speak, it’s nice to have some guys on the roster actually act like pro wrestlers. Is it unprofessional? Yup, it’s unprofessional as hell. Is what Zayn and Owens did, exactly what so many legends have done in the past to protect their spot and send a message? Yup.

Now Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn can deal with the fall out. If WWE history is a guide, Zayn will get de-pushed and Owens will keep his spot. See 1996-1997 Shawn Michaels/HHH if you need further details.

I really didn’t think we would see two wrestlers go against the grain this hard in the modern product. Then again, I’m sure they both have Chris Jericho’s phone number.
